Tyla Releases Her Long-Awaited Debut Music Album
South African music star, Tyla Laura Seethal, prominently known as Tyla, has released her long-awaited debut music album, named ‘Tyla’.
The 14-track music album is named after the music star, as her music debut is named ‘Tyla’, which is her name and also shows the booming trend of her brand, globally, that has as well greatly attained acceptance just a year after her breaking into limelight in the music industry in 2023. This has however made her to be a significant music star and a force to recognize in the entertainment industry.
As Tyla had promised, the iconic album has a list of prominent music stars from different countries and genres of music – and the list includes Kelvin Momo, Tems, Gunna, Skillibeng, Becky G, and Travis Scott, with her popular single titled ‘Water’ as the lead single.
Tyla’s presentation of the new album is a confirmation of the fact that she has unequalled musical prowess that music lovers have been pleasantly exposed to within the last one year. Her impeccable vocal strength has ceaselessly put her fans in amazement as she creatively lift them above the rhymes of beats, with production credits accorded to Corey Marlon, Lindsay Keay, Ebenezer Maxwell, Sammy Soso, and Sir Nolan.
To have in remembrance is the fact this her debut album’s lead single titled ‘Water’, recently got the singer a Grammy-nomination and an eventual victory at the 66th annual Grammy Awards, whose event took place at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 24, 2024. Tyla was also recently celebrated after she won the title of highest-charting African female solo artiste on the ‘Billboard Hot 100 chart’. This was after ‘Water’ was reportedly projected to number 14.
Indeed, Tyla must have been highly selective in her choice of artistes for her debut studio album – as this is reflected in the quality of the presentation of every of the guests that feature on the different tracks in the album.
Kelvin Momo’s best self in the 40-second intro gave Tyla a good feel. Tems gave an excellent presentation of verse on the fifth track titled ‘No. 1’, and that’s why she could make the list of Africans credited with having won a Grammy.
In a similar vein, Gunna and Skillibeng beautifully delivered their verses on the 9th track, ‘Jump’, while Becky G gave a a thrilling presentation that was complemented with excellent drive on the eleventh track titled ‘On My Body’.
Previously Tyla had already acknowledged Travis Scott’s perfect touch of trap music on the ‘Water’ remix, which is in the eleventh track and was released before the full album was launched.
Other tracks on the debut album include ‘Safer’ (track 2), ‘Water'(track 3: the lead single), ‘Truth or Dare ( track 4), ‘Breathe Me” (track 6), and ‘Butterflies ( track 7), ‘On and On’ (track 8), ‘ART’ (track 10), ‘Priorities’ (track 12), and ‘To Last’ (track 13).
Tyla’s general performance on the new album has recorded an historic feat for her music career – and it has also set a pace for her contemporaries and possible competitors.
